Bugatti has unveiled the F.K.P. Hommage, a one-of-a-kind hypercar that serves as a direct homage to the groundbreaking Veyron – the model that resurrected the brand two decades ago.
A Nod to Automotive History
The Veyron’s arrival in the early 2000s marked a turning point for Bugatti, reviving a legacy that began in the 1920s with iconic racers like the Type 35 and ultra-luxury vehicles such as the Type 41 Royale. After a period of decline following WWII, the brand was reborn under Volkswagen’s direction, reaching new heights of performance with the Veyron. The F.K.P. Hommage celebrates this pivotal moment.
The car’s name honors Ferdinand Karl Piëch, the former head of the Volkswagen Group, whose vision brought the W-16 engine to life in the Veyron. Though inspired by the Veyron’s design, the F.K.P. Hommage is built on the Chiron platform, launched in 2016.
Power and Style Combined
At the heart of the F.K.P. Hommage lies a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine, producing an astonishing 1,578 horsepower. This powerplant is the same as the one found in the Chiron Super Sport, making the Hommage exceptionally powerful.
The exterior styling mirrors the Veyron’s sleek silhouette, with a two-tone black and red color scheme and carbon-fiber accents. Key details such as the horseshoe grille (machined from a solid block of aluminum) and distinctive roof ducts pay direct tribute to the original. The wheels, measuring 20 and 21 inches, echo the Veyron’s blocky design, while circular taillights further emphasize the retro aesthetic.
Luxury Inside and Out
The interior is draped in supple brown leather, creating a lavish environment. The steering wheel is a circular design, and the center console features gleaming silver fish-scale trim with physical controls. A bespoke Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon timepiece is prominently displayed, adding to the car’s exclusivity. The seats and door panels feature a unique fabric pattern of rhombuses and jagged lines.
A Limited Production Masterpiece
The F.K.P. Hommage is the second creation from Bugatti’s Solitaire division, which will produce up to two fully customized vehicles annually. Following the Brouillard, the Hommage represents the ultimate in automotive exclusivity, though its final price remains undisclosed.
The F.K.P. Hommage is not simply a car; it’s a rolling tribute to engineering, luxury, and the legacy of one of the most iconic hypercars ever built. The shift toward hybrid power in future Bugatti models makes this final W-16 statement all the more significant.
