Nissan Australia has stopped teasing and started telling. The 2027 Z Coupe is officially on the books. You can order one starting this month. Deliveries don’t start until September 2026, which feels like a wait, but that’s how the car business runs now.
The big news? A manual Nismo finally exists.
Why wait for the 2027 Nissan Z manual?

It’s not a weak version. It retains the high-output engine tune. You get 309kW and 520Nm of torque. That is an 11kW and 45Nm bump over the standard model. The gearbox is a short-stroke, six-speed unit with an exclusively tuned drive mode. It’s built for engagement.
The chassis changes matter too. Nissan grabbed two-piece front brake rotors from the R35 GT-R. They even tweaked the caliper finish. Why? To drop unsprung mass. Specifically, about 9kg shed from the wheels. That sounds small, but in a sports car, unsprung mass is the enemy of handling.
Standard Z models get a facelift too. New front bumper. New grille. Revised 19-inch alloy wheels. Even the monotube dampers in the Nismo are updated, claiming better ride comfort alongside the sharper handling.
Which colors and tech upgrades are new?
Color matters. You now get Unryu Green as the hero exterior paint. If you prefer grey, Boulder Grey is back with a contrasting black roof option.
Inside, the updates are practical. A new wireless phone charger is standard. The regular Z Coupe now offers a tan interior at no extra cost, which is a nice move for personalization.
Other small tweaks include a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror, a new key design, and a fresh start-up animation for the instrument cluster. Small touches, but they signal this isn’t last year’s car.
What does the updated Nissan Z cost?
Prices ticked up. Just slightly, but they moved.
- Standard Z : $76,800 drive away (excluding on-roads). That’s a $640 increase.
- Nismo : $95,000 (excluding on-roads). Up by $395.
Here is the good part. The price is flat across transmissions. If you buy a standard Z, it’s the same price whether you pick the six-speed manual or the nine-speed automatic. The Nismo follows suit. Manual or auto? Same $95k ticket. No penalty for wanting to shift gears yourself.
Service costs are capped for the first five years. $499 per visit. And if you stay with authorized Nissan dealers for servicing, the warranty stretches to 10 years or 300,000 kilometers.
